Paint / Draw / Paint

October 16, 2016 - October 22, 2016

Mountain Home Ranch is a secluded retreat center in the heart of the California wine country, featuring comfortable rustic accommodations and delicious fresh meals. This is the relaxed setting for our painting retreat, held in a big barn/studio with plenty of natural light and access to the outdoors. There are trails for hiking in the magic redwood forest, and a swimming pool for relaxing.

The Ranch hosted Leigh Hyams’ popular workshops, and we continue in her tradition of the passionate pursuit of the painted image. Participants may work on their own, or experiment with the techniques I will present in daily warm-up exercises, exploring a range of experimental approaches to mark making. I’ll work individually with each participant, focusing on personal vision, with encouraging discussions, and occasional group critiques. This program is suitable for those who feel they would benefit from time immersed in painting and nature, working individually, in a studio with a group of like-minded people. Maximum 12 participants.

Plan to arrive at MHR on Sunday, October 16, get settled, and meet in the painting studio at 5 pm. Bring the supplies you use to make art. Be prepared for a stimulating week of rewarding work. Depart after lunch on Saturday, October 22.
